REFUND TRANSFER

Pay nothing out of pocket with Refund Transfer

Keep your money in your wallet with Refund Transfer, and pay for tax prep and other amounts with your refund. Then, choose where to send the rest of it.

How it works

step 1

Apply in person or online

Work with a tax pro or file online to apply. Then, set up an FDIC-insured Refund Account to get your tax refund payment.

step 2

Pay fees from your refund

Authorize payments for your tax prep and other amounts, including $39 for Refund Transfer. Fees are only collected when services are complete.

step 3

Choose how to get the rest of your funds

Get your remaining refund by direct deposit, in a Spruce account, on an H&R Block Emerald Prepaid Mastercard® (an existing Emerald Card if filing online), or by check (available if filing with a tax pro).

step 4

Enjoy your money

Splurge on something new. Or put money away for an emergency fund. Use your refund however you like.

Two easy ways to get your remaining funds

Don’t have a bank account? Enjoy easy access to your remaining refund when you receive it in a Spruce account or on an Emerald Card.
